Many household products contain toxic or hazardous chemicals. Improper disposal of such things as antifreeze, drain cleaners and pesticides can result in serious contamination of our underground drinking water.
By bringing these products to the Town of Huntington Household Hazardous Waste Facility (aka S.T.O.P.) you can insure the continued health and safety of our environment.
The "STOP" facility is located at the Town Recycling Center, 641 New York Ave. Huntington, 1/4 mile north of the Home Depot.
The Facility is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
When Bringing Hazardous Waste to the S.T.O.P. Facility:
- Bring waste in its original container if possible.
- Secure items for transport.
- Do not leave waste in a hot, unventilated vehicle for long periods of time.
- Do not smoke near chemical products.
